Something new is brewing
JoxView (Media Jukebox Viewer) lets you watch your own content, for free, without paying some third party for overly complicated, bloated software. Built with a Windows-first approach for simple installation and setup, with stretch goals for Roku and other devices. A sleek, simple interface with no unnecessary confusion or trash.
If the eventual Kickstarter makes enough money, full source code will be released.
Unlike other home media servers, JoxView starts by normalizing your entire collection. Every video is re-encoded to consistent video and audio formats, ensuring universal compatibility across all devices.
The system automatically downloads metadata, artwork, and closed captions from free public APIs - no subscriptions required. Audio levels are also normalized, so you will never have to deal with "loud" episodes followed by "quiet" ones again.
Once your collection has been scrubbed and optimized, it is ready for all streaming devices - Roku, Firestick, and any modern browser. Watch your entire collection on the move, anywhere in the world.
Requires basic understanding of port forwarding and dynamic DNS for remote access.
